ABOUT “MARLS”
Marlene was born in Victoria and has enjoyed a passion for drawing and
art since early childhood.
Since relocating to Queensland in 1982,
Marlene has lived interstate and overseas but has returned to Central Queensland and now resides in Rockhampton.
Having a rural background
Marlene's art reflects her love for our country and it's creatures in
all their beauty.
Marlene has formal training with a Diploma in Complete Commercial Art & Graphic Design with High Distinction. She has also participated in
many and varied Art Workshops to expand her knowledge and skills.
Marlene's most favoured medium is pastel, as they bridge a gap between
drawing and painting; but she also works in oil, acrylic and mixed
media.
In recent years Marlene has won various awards and exhibited solely, jointly and in group exhibitions. Marlene also shares her knowledge by teaching drawing & pastels.
Currently Marlene produces drawings & paintings for commissions, exhibitions and competitions.
Marlene has always involved herself in community art groups and societies and is a member of The Royal Queensland Art Society, Pastel Society of Australia Inc, Queensland Wildlife Art Society Inc, Wildlife Art Society of Australasia Inc. and Artworkers Alliance.
